OUR STORY
They say that before a tree can reach for the heavens, it must first make peace with the dirt.
For years, you may have known this space as Dark Thorn Artistry. It was a place of protection, of finding beauty in the sharp edges of life, and of learning to survive the thicket. But as any worker of the root knows, there comes a season where survival must turn into sustenance. The Rooted Word is the evolution of that season. It is the moment where the thorn meets the soil and becomes a foundation.
Why "The Rooted Word"?
In our tradition, the "Word" is more than just speech—it is intention made manifest. When we "Do The Work," we are honoring the earth and our ancestors. When we "Speak the Word," we are commanding our reality to shift.
Every jar of anointing butter, every bag of cleansing scrub, and every ritual kit found here is assembled by my own hands and consecrated through my ministerial office. I don't just sell products; I provide physical prayers.
The Root: Handcrafted, small-batch apothecary goods informed by ancestral conjure.
The Word: Spiritual counsel, Tarot guidance, and ministerial petitions to help you find your way.
The Minister’s Promise
Whether you are walking through a season of Dark Thorns or looking to Sweeten the Path, you are welcome here. I promise to treat your spirit with the reverence it deserves, offering tools that are as sturdy as a weeping willow and as honest as the earth itself.
Pull up a chair. Stay a while. Let's get to work.

A Five-Year Consecration
Since 2020, I have walked my path of an Ordained Minister. While that title is written on paper, my true ordination happened long ago—at the kitchen table listening to the elders, in the quiet hum of the garden, at my grandmother's hip in the church house, and at the crossroads of my own life’s hardest lessons.
My ministry is not one of high pulpits and cold stone. It is a ministry of the Soulaani traditions—a practice of "The Work" that recognizes the sacred in the salt, the spirit in the scrub, and the power in a well-aimed prayer.
